a darker common, amber in color, hard to tell if they even did the yeast and fermentation authentically, it tastes kind of cheap and lousy, even a little bit spoiled, not that its bad, but that the fermentation elements that should subtly define a beer in this style sort of are lost to a generic blah aspect that overrides anything else. i get an almost chemical property to it, some brown sugar and european crystal malts as well. but a sharpness, astringency, and almost an english thing to it, toffee and maple when being nice, overcooked simple grain when not. its fine, it just seems a little basic to me, like the lager part isnt all the way here, and the drinkability takes a hit too. its just a beer, a little bit less than delicious, but not a bad effort either, especially in a tricky style. it should be drier, the body should be lesser, and the ferment should be more minimal, but overall im glad i came here, im glad they made this, and im sad this place is going away. anyone who does a common has my respect...
