A: Pours an extremely dark cola brown (approaching black) in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate ruby red + chestnut brown colored highlights. The beer has a finger tall foamy tan head that reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of milk chocolate with light aromas of roasted + caramel malts and a light to moderate lactose sweetness. Light aromas of coffee/espresso.
T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of roasted + caramel malts with a moderate amount of lactose sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of milk chocolate and some light flavors of espresso/coffee with a hint of vanilla. No perceptible hop presence. Light amounts of roasty bitterness which fade away almost instantly leaving lingering milk chocolate flavors.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol. Enjoyable with a pleasantly rich milk chocolate aromas + flavor and a more subtle espresso/coffee notes.

A: The beer is very dark brown when viewed from afar and when held up to a bright light the edges of the glass exhibit reddish brown hues. It poured with a quarter finger high beige colored head.
S: Light aromas of chocolate are present in the nose along with hints of coffee beans.
T: The taste follows the smell and also is very chocolatey with only hints of espresso beans. There is also a touch of sweetness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This porter would make for a good dessert beer with all of its chocolatey aromas and flavors.
