Sometimes the answers are right in front of us, but sometimes they are suspended just out of reach in a dark unknown. This NEIPA settles somewhere between hazy and juicy, with bright notes of passionfruit and citrus. Dry-hopped with galaxy, this beer will land you amidst the answers everyone is looking for, until you’re willed to come back down.

Tasted from a 16 oz can.

Look: Classic NEIPA haze, medium to high carbonation, light gold to medium yellow color. Thick non-transparent body. Beautiful light body.

Smell: Forward hops, citrus, pineapple, floral, bright acidity.

Taste: Similar to smell, high carbonation on front palate, overwhelming hops almost suffocates delicates in flavor, pineapple, green apple, citrus, watery, complexity in flavor is overrun mid palate by high acids. Very disappointing, so much potential here. Back palate is all hops all the way down, not fun and very little balance.

Feel: bright carbonation, rough, think light coors. Need refining.

Overall: This recipe was probably refinied in later releases. Not worth the asking price of $20 for four 16oz cans. Was a little disappointed by this release, would rather recommend other releases by the same brewery.

On tap served in a tulip at the Tuckaway Tavern.
Hazy murky grapefruit of a yellow in color without much of a head by the time it arrives at the table. Juicy fruity citrus and tropical with bready maltiness to counter. Gritty mouthfeel like so many of these hazy ipa's these days. Nice beer.

On tap and 4 pack pint cans. 5/17/18

This thing is looking NEIpa all tbe way. A bright golden yellow with orange highlights. Thick and hazy, beastie all white foam cap. Fluffy and dense with decent lacing.

The hop dominated nose is seriously intense. Huge, juicy, multi layers ofcitrus/tropical fruits, pineapple, papaya, kiwi, banana and strawberry. Sweet but also peppery citrus, but mostly juicy hop stylie. The malt is super light and crispy, slightly sweet and grainy.

The hops are very complex in the overall flavor spectrum. Dense layers of earthy, grainy, bitter hops start it off, followed by the aforementioned , juicy, fruity, piney hop effect. Earthy and juicy tones is exactly why I love the hazed-out ipa style so much. Crazy clean and crisp malty bite is full of grain and light honey sweetness. The excellent dry-earthy hop tones come from Galaxy hops which is an all time favorite, high alpha hop strain.

Mouthfell and texture is light to medium bodied, juicy, crispy edge with a slick malty middle and dry toned finish. Very well roundee and fresh approach.

Easily one of the very best brews to ever be brewed and released here in Keene, NH.

From a 16oz can dated 05/04/18. Served in an imperial pint pub glass.

Pours a glowing, medium yellow-gold with two full fingers of soapy, bubbly, frothy head. Retention is excellent, settling back to a thick, solid cap with spotty lacing. Looks like the real deal.

Really nice nose of sticky pineapple, lemon and sweet white bread.

Juicy, but with good bitterness. Taste initially pretty much follows the nose, with grapefruit, lemon and mildly sweet, sticky tropical fruit notes... but then ends with an unfortunate lingering unfinished or grainy-tannic character.

Feel is juicy and quenching, medium-hefty bodied and the carbonation is spot-on.

Overall, a mixed bag for me. I enjoyed it well enough, and there's no question this is a legitimate NEIPA and I'll have it again, but there's still a little work to be done here. In the meantime, I'm going to let my other three cans sit in the fridge for a week or so and see if they clean up a little.
