We teamed up with the fine folks over at Divine Barrel Brewing to bring you this West Coast IPA. Chrome Plated Megaphone of Destiny is a #bitterboi that delivers a refreshing and robust experience unlike our typical IPA offerings. The combination of Enigma, Mosaic & Columbus provide floral and dank aromatics with mixed berries on the palate. This is the most bitter offering we have produced to date and it is surprisingly refreshing!

From a 16oz can, undated. Served in a tulip.

Pours a just-barely-hazy, deep honey-gold with a finger of sudsy head. Retention on the order of maybe 20 seconds leaves a fat, foamy collar and a slippery curtain of lacing.

An intense aroma of industrial strength orange-scented lacquer thinner. It smells good but, at the same time, it smells like something that can hurt you.

Taste follows the nose but thankfully fails to damage my esophagus, at least so far. Concentrated orange peel oils and pine resin. There is substantial grapefruit bitterness at the ending but nothing that lingers.

Feel is big, smooth, medium-hefty bodied, and brightly carbonated. The can promises me ‘dank’ but I’m going with resinous.

Overall, there’s nothing subtle going on here, not that anyone necessarily asked for subtle, but it IS almost a cartoon of an east coast brewer’s idea of what a west coast IPA should be. Btw, anyone who has ever complained that they can’t drink more than one NEIPA, this beer is not the answer - it’s big and robust and it’ll fill you right up. Tasty, though.

Edited to add: I was wrong about not drinking more than one, and it gets even better when the end of the next one warms up a little and probably not just because I'm a little buzzed now although maybe. Anyway, I added 0.25 to the overall.
