Picked up a single from the Blue Door Bottleshop in Hendersonville 9-1-22 for $3.75. Canned 8-17-22; consumed 12-15-22. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured reddish with an okay white head.
Nose has phenolic hints of cloves.
Taste is nicely done, a rye malt base displays notes of clove, bubblegum, and banana. Finishes with a nice rye spiciness and noble hopping that balances the beer nicely.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.
Overall a nicely done weizen style beer!

Canned 9/30/21. Poured at 55°. Opaque amber body with thin beige head that disappears quickly; poor cap retention; thin ring; some soapy lace. Sweet malt/rye nose; brown bread; more rye as beer warms. Taste follows nose with almost a tart tangy aftertaste. Medium light body; moderate minus carbonation; dry rye finish. Overall, while probably right for the style, the juxtaposition of sweet and tangy doesn’t work for me, and the beer is drying; if you like rye, this may be a style to try.
