Poured from stovepipe can into tulip glass. It pours a pretty, dark cherry with a modest ecru-colored cap and lacing. A very nice nose: apple, cherry, and plum with abundant scents of clove and coriander. Its taste follows. It is fruity with big apple, raisin, dark cherry, and sweet brown bread. The Belgian spicing is not as strong in the taste as in the nose. This ale is well-bodied and carbonated and the 12.3% ABV is not apparent. In fact, it drinks surprisingly easily. Overall, Dragon's Head is a very solid Belgian Pale Strong Ale. It exceeded my expectation.
