Our flagship pale ale, Sunburst is brewed with drinkability in mind. Aromas of grapefruit, citrus, and a hint of tropical fruit precede a smooth malt body that finishes with low bitterness. Pairs nicely with pad Thai, jerk chicken.

355 mL can from the LCBO; dated Feb 7 2022 and served barely chilled.
Pours a relatively clear pale blonde colour, initially clouded with sand-like sediment, but it settled out pretty quickly. Situated atop is an inch of puffy, foamy white head that falls back within three minutes or so, coating the glass with a band of messy, webby lace - a fine-looking pale ale. It smells of mandarin orange, grapefruit, pineapple and cantaloupe, with hints of lemon zest and graininess.
It's not bad - I'm getting melon, orange and grapefruit, backed by gritty, grainy pale malts and wheaty breadiness. Earthy and floral on the back end, mingling with stone fruit and citrus peel flavours, followed by an earthy aftertaste that lingers. Medium in body, with low-ish carbonation that brushes lightly against the tongue, lending a little bit of crispness to its otherwise smooth, soft texture. It's drinkable enough, but not particularly sessionable.
Final Grade: 3.69, a B grade. Sunburst New England-Style Pale Ale came highly recommended, and to be fair it's just fine for a local pale ale - the fruity hop flavours start off strong, but lose cohesion towards the finish. More importantly, the floral, earthy aftertaste is more reminiscent of an old-school Ontario pale ale than a NEPA. Don't get me wrong, this is a decent pale ale and I'm sure I'll drink it again at some point, but it's not a brew I'd necessarily go out of my way for.

Out of retirement. 355 ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for around $3.50 CDN.
Appearance - Hazy golden color, a finger of fluffy white head, modest staying power and limited lacing.
Smell - Fairly intense citrus, orange most prominent.
Taste - Some orange of front, less bitterness than expected and plenty of graininess backing of the hops. Pretty balance, but lacking a bit of the punch that the nose had.
Mouthfeel - Strangely flat, lacking carbonation and sort of thin body.
Overall - Good pale ale, but not spectacular, had high expectation and just came up short. Even still a decent enough pale ale, it's just so crowded in terms of competition wise these days.

Crowler: Poured a hazy bright blonde color ale with a nice white foamy head. Aroma of citrusy undertones with light grapefruit notes with some residuals sugar notes also perceptible. Taste is a nice easy drinking mix of hoppy floral undertones with some nice citrusy notes and some residual sugar notes. Body is full with good carbonation. Enjoyable APA with nice floral undertones but lacking some attenuation.

Pours a hazy grapefruit juice colour with a healthy thick head. Lots of lacing on my glass. Corny and bitter on the smell. Some citrus notes with garden weeds on the taste. Nicely carbonated
