Collaboration with Brasseurs Du Nord
A collaborative farmhouse IPA made with Kveik yeast, barley and oats from Quebec, and hopped with Chinook and Citra. It also has a couple juniper branches from the brewery grounds added as a nod to the traditional Norwegian farmhouse brews which spawned this type of yeast.

A: Pours the usual super hazy light golden color with a pure white creamy looking head with a good amount of volume and really solid retention. Lacing is also very good.
S: Smell is VERY interesting. You get the usual amount of pineapple, clementine and a little bit of lemon juice. The VERY interesting is that it's VERY funky with an unusual amount of barnyard, floral and even manure like notes. It's really weird in a cool way. Very "rustic".
T: The taste is just as interesting. It's still super juicy with a ton of pineapple, clementine and kumquats. The funk is still there with a strong brett-like dryness but without the same notes. Here you have a dry floral, herbal notes with a little bit of barnyard. The taste is very short (it stops tasting very quickly) and a bit lower intensity than expected.
M: Extremely light and fluffy. Perfect for the flavors they're going for.
O: This is a very very interesting beer. You have a wide variety of flavors that are blended pretty well together even though you never see them together. I really enjoyed this beer and should be tried by most IPA fans. Also, I did classify it as an NEIPA as it is more of an IPA than a saison. Still, I think an "American Saison" style should be added with all the very hopped saison we see these days.

A:
It pours hazy yellow with a skiff of white head. Ok retention; specks of lacing. (3.75)
S:
Stone fruit, vanilla-y citrus sort of flavor, light earthiness that suggests green pepper as it warms up. (3.75)
T:
Fairly subdued fruitiness, with an initial mild earthy bitter note, some lime zest and white pepper, meaty green hop flavor and a little peach at the finish. (4)
M:
Pretty dry with light carbonation and a little body to it. (4)
O:
Interesting.
It pours a fairly cloudy yellow without much head to speak of. The aroma and flavor are both lacking in terms of the potent hop punch that you'd expect from the NE-inspired side of this beer, but they both have an interesting Orange Julius character that I think must come from the Norwegian side of the equation. All-in-all this is a nice beer but I am kind of at a loss to describe the character I pick up on in it. Kind of an earthy vanilla citrus zest with some sweetness the I can only liken to squash in that it is a once sweet, earthy and kind of substantial body-wise. An enjoyable beer that has really piqued my curiosity. (3.75)
