enjoyed at their santa fe spot, a unique and mellow funky space that was great to hang at. this is a solid porter, chocolate forward to the point of like, it could have actual chocolate in it, lots of body, moderately sweet, smooth and kind of wintery, but good enough to have anytime, i was pleased with the two beers we had here, especially for a place i never heard of before wandering in. the lighting was dim in here, but this looks pretty darn dark, approaching black, and with the abv too it presents as more of a robust porter, a creamy near inch of tan to burlap colored head on top, looks sturdy and good. the nose and the taste are identical to me, dark baking chocolate but with well balanced out bitterness, light smoke, deep roast, black coffee character too, some richer milk chocolate and molasses in play too, a bit of sweetness all through it but not desserty and overbearing, and this is crazy smooth, almost creamy feeling, hefty, with an awesome aftertaste and a fairly well hidden abv, its strength is not really a factor. i get nuances of cola and cold brew coffee, slightly english too, but chocolate is the predominant note with this one. very tasty, deep, and well constructed beer, ahead of my modest expectations walking in...
