never heard of gemini beer company before, even after living in colorado for so long. apparently a gypsy operation, this one done with, and likely at, 300 suns. its a cool saison, fermented with sake yeast and brewed with some jasmine rice. its light and bright, full of flavor, and really quite distinctive, i was very impressed by this, and its a heck of a first impression really. the beer is not quite all the way clear, shiny and brassy toned in the glass with a high rising and long lasting white head like a soda. the aroma is lightly floral and spicy, with things like lemongrass and rose hips coming to mind, some lime leaf, elderflower, and tart green grape too, its all happening. the sake yeast is an impressive fermenter, and this is nice and dry and effervescent too, impressively lively, just what i want in a beer like this. the rice lightens up the feel nicely, and there is no sign of the alcohol at all. a pretty juicy finish to this, in part from the yeast but also some hops it seems, quite a nice mix of flavors here, distinctive, and all very fresh. i like this a lot, its different, but its great saison, subtle layers of lemon pepper, dill, and mineral water round it out, its just great. i will look for more from these guys, this one really is something to be excited about!
