Brownish black opaque body with a billowing light brown head. Smell has the style's staples: roasted malt, baker's chocolate, dried dark fruit, leather, licorice, and dark yeast. Taste adds a hint of caramel, otherwise as the nose foretold. Classic and clean feel with a touch of sugars adding to the robust yet not too heavy body. All around great baltic porter

Poured from 330mL can into a wine glass. Best by 3/7/24.
Appearance: rich, deep, dark brown hue that must have some haze because almost no light is let through. Head is a thin layer of frothy tan foam that doesn't stick around very long -- a bit of a shame, given the beautiful color.
Smell: a bit of sweetness, with character of caramel, toffee, and chocolate. A good combo for a Baltic porter.
Taste: lots of toffee character here, along, of course, with plenty of sweetness. Some chocolate comes through around the edges, but there's also a sweet date/raisin fruitiness that I like a lot. Perhaps a bit on the sweet side (the beer is sweetened a little), but the flavors are good.
Mouthfeel: rich body with a good carbonation and a silky smooth, rich texture. I am into it.
Overall: again, this is a heck of a sweet dessert beer, but it brings a lot of flavor to the table.
