Poured from 330mL can into a tall kitchen glass. Best by 12/12/23.
Appearance: medium golden hue with plenty of haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop that leaves a nice lace on the glass.
Smell: sweet malt with a hop character that's slightly citrusy, slightly dank. There's a little bit of a sharpness to the hops, though, that I'm not the biggest fan of.
Taste: malt is again on the sweet side, with a similar hop profile. The flavor has the same bit of hop sharpness as the aroma -- I wish I could describe better what I"m tasting. Frankly, it's something that comes up in a lot of Hungarian IPAs, so I don't know if that has to do with the quality of the hops they are getting or what. It's not terrible, but it's just not to my taste. Otherwise, there's some good stuff going on in this beer.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: this seems like a well-made beer, except for this one particular flavor dimension. Perhaps it's an expected flavor, and something I just don't personally care for? Hard to say. My inclination is to give the brewery the benefit of the doubt, but that being said, I'm not gonna buy another one of these.
