From a 750ml bottle purchased at the brewery. I took this beer out of the fridge about a half hour before opening to let it warm up a bit.
Pitch black pouring beer. nothing shines through when I hold it up to a light. I did a somewhat aggressive pour, and it produced a 1 finger tan colored head. The head isn't long lasting. No lacing on the glass as the head dissipates to a ring.
The aroma started hitting as I poured. I was getting a pleasing cherry aroma as I poured the beer into the glass. Up close it is a bit more mellow with notes of chocolate mixed in.
The flavor starts out chocolate, and it lingers throughout. The cherry comes in on the backside to make a pleasing mix of the 2 flavors.
The body does actually seem a bit thin for being 10%. It isn't watery, but a bit thin, Smooth and somewhat creamy feeling.
This is a tasty and interesting beer.
