Cloudy, dirty gold color. Modest head that recedes to only the edge. Some thinner streaks left upon the glass.
There’s a stronger hop and malt smell than farmhouse yeast bite. Blindfolded, I would be expecting a pale ale.
There’s a pleasant but soft malt start. The body leans fuller while the carbonation is also elevated slightly. The finish is a blend of white pepper (hops) and that unique farmhouse yeast bite. It leaves moderate length aftertaste. Overall, this is more Pale Ale than saison which makes it a good introduction to farmhouse beers to the uninitiated.
