We aged this double mash imperial stout in bourbon barrels until it gives us the rich chocolate notes we want for this particular beer. We then condition it on toasted coconut, Michigan maple syrup and coffee roasted by our friends at Greenglass Coffee Company.

500 mL bottle
Served in a snifter
This beer pours black and is topped with a skim of mocha head that leaves oily residue as it recedes. This is the thickest stout I have ever poured. It pours with the same look and viscosity of used motor oil.
Chocolate and vanilla with some coffee notes.
Chocolate with some anise. Vanilla. Hints of coffee.
Thick and viscous with an oily mouthfeel
Good stuff. Drinks great for a 15%er.

Pours with the viscosity of used motor oil. Flavor reminds me of intense chocolate syrup. It’s thick and rich with a lingering finish. Absolutely sublime. Brace yourself.

A - Pours a deep dark brown with a thin tan head. Light amount of oily lacing.
S - Aroma is coconut, maple, milk chocolate and good dose of bourbon barrel.
T - The taste is heavy maple syrup with sweet coconut, vanilla, milk chocolate, sweetened balck coffee and light bourbon heat in the finish.
M - Full body with medium/low carbonation. Syrupy mouthfeel with a slick dry finish.
O - Really solid dessert stout. Flavors are definitely on the sweet side which make it a slow sipper.

poured from a a blue-waxed 500mL bottle (2023 vintage) into a perennial snifter. pours darkish brown with light brown edges but sits in the glass a shiny almost-black with a thin mocha brown foam cap that reduces to a few swirls. slight bourbon, rich chocolate and coconut and a hint of maple on the nose. taste follows but it’s damn sweet. the maple and coconut i suppose. not artificial or anything but still sugary sweet with not quite as much barrel as i’d like to cut it. it has a thick, full mouthfeel. pretty good.
