Released on 7/13/2022 (presumably bottled within a few days of that date); consumed on 11/26/2022
Pours a viscous, brownish-black body accompanied by a multitude of chunky toffee residuals and zero sign of frothing at the surface, an almost entirely still appearance producing no cap, collar, or lacing against the walls of the glass.
Aromas waft chopped macadamia leaving nutty oils lingering as dark cocoa spawns from toasty malts; bakery-fresh toffee takes hold over time alongside a nutty char building with subtle barrel undertones.
Taste brings baked toffee sporting edges of charry coffee and nutty subtext; milk chocolate accompanied by a subliminal pang of bourbon over the mid-palate finds dark chocolate pushing through the back end into barrel vanillins on the finish.
Mouthfeel offers a viscous, medium-full body with minimal carbonation; slick textures trend somewhat creamy, carrying a subdued warmth through vague stickiness, shreds of boozy heat, and am ultimately level finish.
Adjunct overload expressed deeply to a weighty syrup overwhelming a lower tone of barrel; flavorful though lacking in much nuance, and with little distinct body to carry the heavier profile; a fun brew, though its edges leave it feeling unintentionally gimmicky.
