2022 vintage; consumed on 6/14/2023

Pours a lighter, motor-oil black body sporting auburn/mahogany hues and topped with just over a finger of dark khaki foam; decent head retention leaves a sparse, paper-thin cap, a modest, frothy collar, and minimal-no lacing holding to the walls of the glass with any longevity.

Aromas of layered barrel character find brief sensations of ice cream sandwich as vanilla creme is countered with distant cherry and a balancing smoke/barrel char, with rye spice prevailing through the back end of the bouquet.

Taste brings milk chocolate against a potent rye spice upfront, with malted dark cocoa layered over the mid-palate with a gooey marshmallow edge as notes of leather and pipe tobacco linger.

Mouthfeel offers a body on the lighter end of medium and a lower-end carbonation, leaving silky-thick textures into a briefly roasty mid-palate and a dry back end sporting hints of richer stickiness lingering past the swallow.

A dessert cordial essence tempered with rye spice explores a tentative medium between lush sweetness and prickly roast; a casual barrel integration saves this one from leaning too heavily on overindulgence.
