We took a select blend of barrels, some containing a long-aged Russian imperial base and others with a bigger oat-forward base, and blended them to express baker’s chocolate, molasses and marshmallow notes. We then added a special blend of fresh roasted coffee from Greenglass Coffee Company. The resulting beer has a balanced texture that plays beautifully with the chocolate, caramel and light stone fruit acidity from the coffee.

Dark and opaque pour and glass appearance; thin head, primarily relatively thick ring circling the inside of the glass, lasting. Deep, rich dark malt sweetness; mild sense of bourbon. Mind-blowing taste; rich milk chocolate steeped with coffee and whiskey; subliminal bitterness. Dense, chewy mouthfeel; liquid chocolate fudge; viscous and sticky.
Oh, my. What a fantastic barrel aged and coffee adjudicated imperial stout. Amazingly complex with superlative taste and mouthfeel. Feed your need for such a beer.

2022 vintage; consumed on 7/25/2023
Pours a silky, jet-brown body capped with just shy of two fingers of soapy, beige foam; decent head retention leaves a half-finger of cap, large, creamy collar, and chunky rings of webby lacing comprehensively encircling the walls of the glass.
Aromas of extensive nougat and cocoa wafers open, with a background of (slightly peppery) coffee roast lingering as hints of burnt sugar and gooey vanillins intertwine with a chocolate fade on the back end.
Taste brings caramel and vanilla upfront, accented with cocoa-tinged coffee grounds and slight barrel oak; nougat meets hints of bourbon over the mid-palate as notes of milk chocolate finish with a steadily building sweetness.
Mouthfeel offers a medium body and an effortless fluff of moderate carbonation, leaving a vague stickiness settling to a drying roast over the mid-palate, remaining slightly slick as textures firm into the finish.
Reliance on overindulgent sweetness solicits a sloppily rendition of an otherwise decadent expression, expressive in flavor yet little in the way of focused cohesion.

poured from a 500mL red-waxed bottle into a perennial snifter. served close to room temp. pours a very light brown but gathers in the glass with a thin sandy brown foam cap. decent lacing and a thick collar around the rim of the glass. spicy bourbon and spicy coffee on the nose but as it warms the coffee offers a more fruit forward expression. chocolate covered oranges even. i also get cherry and plum flavors too. quite complex even if it leans in that direction as supposed to a richer, chocolatier bean. it was a fairly thick and full mouthfeel. barrel and oak on the finish and that’s one thing i will say this beer has a lot of from aromas and flavor to finish is a good bourbon barrel presence. really good intro into this brewery for me and already can’t wait to try more!
