Reviewed from notes. Poured from a 750 mL bottle into a Cycle Brewing goblet.
A: Reddish brown, very hazy to turbid. Good amount of visible carbonation, and a half-finger of dense off-white head that fades quickly.
S: Oak, acetic sour, and toasted malt sweetness. The caramel sweetness battles the vinous acetic tannic sourness - like an acetic barleywine.
T: Acetic sour, vinous dry and oaky tannins. Deep red wine tannins. Huge oak presence - some vanilla, but mostly the dry tannins. Some caramel and sweet toasted malts. More acetic sour and vinous tang in the hang.
M: Fairly heavy-bodied with average carbonation sensation. A restrained alcohol presence for a barrel-aged beer.
O: The red wine and the barrel play huge roles here, dominating even the big Flanders Red flavors. It's still acetic, but the red wine is bigger. I didn't like it at first, but as I drilled through the flavors and it warmed, it grew on me. If you don't like big tannic red wines, skip it. Otherwise, it's enjoyable.

Really great barrel aged red ale. Mild tartness with smooth yet complex red ale flavor. Could drink this all day. Very smooth and not tiring at all. Slight sweetness with sour cherry on back end.
