Glad they released this again so I could try it, definitely very good and on point for the style, however I see the Oast House Reserve barrel aged version is back as well and I have to say I prefer that to the original but this is a severely underrated Russian imperial in the Ohio Market

Form the tall boy can in a snifter and split with the little lady
via Bluejacket74----cheers! This VERY nice brew pours a beautiful
dark blackish brown with cola highlights and a BIG thick head of
that foam that settles to a thick ring, thin layer, and shows some
VERY nice lacing. Nose of dark sweet chocolate syrup, subtle coffee,
and dark roast with light anise. Flavors---wow. Dark coffee and anise
with dark berry notes of black berry and raspberry amongst moderate
char and dark sweet chocolate. Nice mouth feel; full body, medium
carbonation that supplies some needed lift, and a moderately
dry finish.
Overall, I have GOT to visit this brewery. Awesome.
Cheers Bluejacket!

16 ounce can, no dating that I noticed on it but I believe it was a January 2019 release. Purchased last weekend at the brewery. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half tan head that stayed around for a long time. There's a good amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate, dark fruit and some anise. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also the addition of some coffee flavor too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's creamy and a bit coating with a good amount of soft carbonation. Easy enough to drink. I thought this was a good overall RIS, definitely worth picking up!
