Not your typical red ale. It starts out simply enough: a pure, coppery Irish red malt base. A trio of US hops lends a bright, west coast twist to the nose, before driving caramelized orange peel into the malt body. The final turn comes from a hearty dose of pale and dark rye, which dries those burnt sugar notes into a toasted grain finish that always leaves us reaching for another.

I had this beer on-tap in a tulip glass at the brewery in Budapest.
Appearance: dark amber hue with a moderate haze and a thick head of creamy tan foam with a good lace on the glass. Great!
Smell: lightly malty with a light complexity that I imagine to be the rye. Not bad, though light.
Taste: slightly sweet malt with a good caramel content and an almost fruity element. Bitterness is moderate and balanced. A good beer indeed. As I sip it just gets better - one of the best I've had in Hungary.
Mouthfeel: medium body with good carbonation and a nice creaminess.
Overall: I don't know if I am just thirsty or what, but I'm really enjoying this beer. Among the best reds I've had.
