Brewed especially for the Horse Brass Pub's 30th anniversary party, and as a tribute to Jim Kennedy ot Admiralty Beverage, a true pioneer in the world of Oregon beer.
Pours a bright orange-golden color topped by a thin, creamy white head. Aroma of lightly sweet pale malt, lightly fruity hops, and a bit of caramel sweetness. Palate is mainly sweet, smooth pale and caramel malts and light fruity hops. A touch of caramel or toffee emerges mid-palate before drying up on the finish. Body is velvety smooth, very enjoyable and just what I look for in an ESB. A quite tasty beer, although I was hoping for something a bit more adventurous.
Post-script: Unlinke most of the special beers brewed for this celebration, this one in particular was crafted to be a session beer that would be to the liking of Don, as he's not a huge fan of barleywines or double IPAs. With that goal in mind, this is a nearly flawless session ale.
