12 oz. Can
Canned On: 02/21/18
Poured into a tulip a nice slightly hazy dark golden yellow color, nice carbonation, with a nice thick/creamy one-finger off-white head, which also leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a nice little citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit), slight pine. The taste is hoppy, malty, with a nice little citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit), slight pine. Medium body, ABV is hidden nicely, with a little dry/bitter finish. Overall, tasty.

It's not any more an IPA as their other APA's. Pours to a lasting head and slightly hazy golden color. Aroma is is mainly citrus, flowers and some pale malt. Flavor is more of the same. On the light side in body and in flavor, an easy drinking hoppy APA.

Really not an IPA. A decent expression of a low-bitterness and flavorful pale ale, though. Kind of like a session IPA? Anyways, you get a good value drink for only $6 per sixer. If it had been $8 or more per sixer I would have felt slightly gipped.
Light bodied. Light straw yellow color. A fruity and floral and slightly piney nose. Flavors are slightly off balanced but passable as a pale ale. Nothing glaringly bad, minus the false advertising.

Golden in color. White foam leaps up on a strong pour but quickly recedes to a thin film. Crystal clear. Almost no lacing.
Smell has bright floral citrus notes coupled with a subtle, almost generic grain note that hints at honey.
Flavor is subdued citrus with a hint of bready malt.
Mouthfeel is thin with medium carbonation.
Overall, if it followed the nose more closely and had tad more heft, I think I'd like it better.

Pours golden and perfectly clear. Fizzy half finger of head soon fades to small ring. Minimal lacing.
Smells mostly grainy, perhaps faint hop in the background.
Tastes grainy, watery. Good carb, easy to drink, but not particularly flavorful.
At this point I don't understand what's going on and check the abv. Ah, so this is a session IPA and not the Unfiltered IPA that the big all-caps letters on the can were selling me. So I'm marking it down further for false advertising. It's also not very good for a session IPA. Whatever they call it, I won't have it again.

God-awful. I like Full Sail, and most of their beers are great. This one is awful. NOT an IPA. NOT unfiltered(!) and not very drinkable. Smells like piss. No body. BUT- if you mix it with a Boatswain American IPA (both of these beers are $4.99 at Trader Joes), it turns into a perfectly-balanced, quaffable beer of approx. 5.8%!

At $4.99 a six pack from Trader Joe’s, this is a steal and if they marketed it as a hoppy pale ale I would have rated it higher.
Crystal clear golden with little to no head after 2 mins. It’s got a light floral, citrus scent and the same for taste. Thin mouthfeel, little bitterness on back end. Lots of carbonation with a light pour.
It’s very easy to drink and a great intro to hop forward beer. I enjoyed two while grilling and while it’s “just OK,” at this price I would buy again but mostly for pool and grilling sessions.
After writing the review I found the following on their website:
“The perfect brew for weekend warriors, explorers, adventurers and thrill seekers? It’s Full Sail Airstream IPA – a balanced, unfiltered, easy-drinking, Northwest-style IPA. This balanced IPA is loaded with fruity hop aromatics and citrus notes, yet is low on bitterness. Geared for any adventure, Airstream IPA is equipped with a modest 4.8 ABV that goes down smooth and easy.
Wherever the road of life takes you... be it stargazing, campfiring, spelunking, lake-jumping, or just toasting the end of a great day with friends. Cheers to wanderlust and Airstream IPA!
Full Sail Airstream IPA is available now in the Full Sail Grab ‘n’ Go-Go Variety 12-pack and will be available in 6-packs coming Summer 2018.
4.8% ABV | 35 IBUS | YEAR ROUND”
