First had: on tap at their brewpub
A brewpub exclusive, the Autumn Ale poured a nice orange-brown color with a full white head that displayed some excellent lacing. Not too much in the aroma, but Challenger hops gave a bit of a fruity quality. Light taste, sweet malts, light sugar and spice, gently hopped for a beer that while not extraordinarily flavorful, was surely well-balanced; slightly bitter in the aftertaste. Light-medium mouthfeel, and went down pretty easy. Relatively high in alcohol for the style, but you wouldn't know it from the taste.
