Despite the word "wine" in the style name, there are no grapes or fruit used in the brewing process of a traditional wheatwine. The name simply describes a wheat based ale of considerable strength and Happy Place is a big one! This richly textured, sipping beer has flavors and aromas of honey, fresh baked bread and a hint of caramel. We utilized several different hop varieties from New Zealand to accent the full body and velvety mouthfeel. You will notice a big alcohol presence, but the wheat malt base keeps it in check so it never becomes distracting. Why dwell in misery when you can be in your Happy Place!
