Saison d'Hiver Saison d'Hiver produced by this social Brewery (prison recovery) in collaboration with the Brewmaster of Loverbeer, Walter Loverier.
Seasonal beer enriched with chicory, broccoli and tips of chicorye Roman artichokes added in mashing halfway through boiling.
Dark, cloudy.
Abundant foam. Medium body, medium carbonation.
Malty hints (of breadcrumbs) that follow one another with herbaceous, earthy, vegetable flavors.
Warm, soft, sweet finish (caramelized notes) , while at the same time a balanced herbaceous, rustic and winter taste remains on the palate.

Birra Vale La Pena "Sèntite Libbero"
33cl brown glass bottle "Consumare... 20/17 09/19". Sampled on 26 June 2018
5€ @ Sto Bene, Piazza della Trinità dei Pellegrini, 88, 00186 Roma, IT
Notes: "Saison d'Hiver". Hazy dark chestnut body beneath a creamy white head that holds well and leaves very nice lacing about the glass. The aroma is fruity over a basic, bready malt. The flavor is not so basic with notes of sugared apple, crusty bread, caramel, a hint of cocoa, and a very subtle spiciness. It's moderately bitter which leaves it semi-dry. Sweet malt lingers in the finish. Medium bodied and gently crisp with a fine-bubbled, seemingly natural carbonation.
