A beer that reminds me of the ABV-pushing IPAs of 10 years ago. It has a caramel sweet nose that becomes a mix of sweet and toasted malt on the taste. Early sips have a more neutral bitterness that just balances that malt. A woody/earthy flavor leans into some dry pine needle notes as the beer warms. There was a slight not of diacetyl when I opened the beer, but it didn't persist, and by the end, there was a more distinct pine aroma joining the toasted malts.

Overall, it was a little on the honey/caramel sweet side, despite showing a sneaky bitterness as it warms.

Follow up; the caramel has a popcorn edge that I am getting more in my second can, and it’s working against my original rating.

 

From a 10-day-old can, pours a very clear deep copper. The malt in this beer kind of overwhelms the hops, both in smell and flavor. Too sweet for my taste, with a slight syrupy thickness. Not a bad beer, but I'm not a huge fan either.

Triple ipa, Citra, Simcoe, Columbus, Azacca. Very drinkable for 10% alc. Enjoyed this beer.
