L: Pours a rich dark brown, near-black. Forms a nice moderate mocha head that fades over a few minutes, leaving behind some nice rim lacing and a very faint cloud of retention. Held to the light, it is an umber hue that is almost completely black coffee and is opaque.
S: Espresso. Roasted malts. Hints of cacao nibs and coconut. Earthy as well, but mostly just coffee.
T: Roasted coffee. Malts and some char. Thinner than most stouts. Faint vanilla. Some nuttiness in the middle. Bitter finish.
F: Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Not especially coating or lasting, but it has a nice texture to it.
O: Good example of a coffee-forward stout. It lacks diversity, but that's ok. It's worth a try. It doesn't quite stack up to some of the thicker, more full-bodied stouts with heavier proportions of chocolate, malt, and sugar, but that's ok.

Poured moderately hard from a tall can into a snifter glass, forming less than a finger of light brown head that quickly faded to nothing. Deep brown color. Smell is definitely coconut with some sweetness. Taste follows closely, maybe a hint of hazelnut and chocolate, but I can only tell due to the clues on the can. Sweet coconut flavor is solid, but you better like coconut a lot. Light to medium bodied with very little carbonation. Solid coconut stout, first time I've had anything from this brewery.
