The beer pours a nice looking white fluffy head that dissipates at a moderate pace while the beer itself is a good looking metallic orange that is clear. The smell is good. It starts with sweet and perfumey guava note and followed the sweet and bready malt notes. The bitter grapefruit hop and resin notes come out fairly strong and overwhelm the malt notes but seems to work perfectly with the sweeter guava note. The taste is more bitter and hoppier than the smell. The primary notes are the grapefruit and resin notes that contain a light spice in the finish. It all works pretty well. The feel is good. It's a straight up old school west coast ipa with a medium body, smooth texture, good acidity, and biting carbonation. Overall, a fantastic beer and one for the local history books. It was nice having an old school west coast ipa.

From a 2-week-old can, pours a very slightly hazy deep orange. Big white head of dense foam. Smell and taste are a great expression of the Nelson hop. Nice combination of fruit, resin and earthy, spicy notes. Moderate-plus bitterness rounds it out. This is a really great beer!

I like this beer!

T - An extreme west coast IPA. The hops are over the top. Very resiny and piney. Not turpentine but on its way while still being enjoyable.

Though a 7% beer not too heavy, medium bodied, easy drinking.
