Whole Hog Beer "Raspberry Sorbet"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle coded "19:22 0892SP"
$2.79 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the body is a lightly hazy golden in color because I assumed they were using flavorings. What does the label say? Yep, "natural flavor". Why it's called a "double radler" though I have no clue. Is it even a radler to begin with? Did they add soda pop to it? The head was white but it dropped almost immediately so maybe they did. It smells malty, oddly a little like creamed corn (Dimethyl sulfide?), and berry-like. It's definitely on the sweet side, just like a radler but I still don't believe that there's any soda-pop added to it. There's some dull, cereal-like malt to it and a similarly dull berry-like fruitiness. There's not a lot of bitterness and it lingers in the mouth but it's not exactly cloying. It's on the edge of becoming a proper dessert beer but it's not quite there. How strong is this? 5.5% - that may or may not explain the whole "double radler" thing. In the mouth it's medium-full and quite soft and smooth with a moderate carbonation. That doesn't really work for me, but whatever. Personally I'd prefer more carbonation, and that would be in keeping with a radler but what the hell, let's call this what it is, it's just a sweet and malty fruit beer. Overall it's OK but there's really nothing special about it.

12 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a pint glass

This beer pours amber with a slight haze. It is topped with an inch of beige head that disappears quickly leaving no lacing.

It has a sour, not tart, raspberry smell.

The taste is similar. I get tart instead of sour though. Decent raspberry flavor.

Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel

Decent radler. I just had a great one right before this though, so this one doesn't seem that great.
