On tap at brewery:
Looks like a weak-tea with lemon in the glass, unfiltered for sure. The head sits nicely at a finger on this pour, and fades slowly to a thick, it’s off white collar.
Nose focuses on the Vienna malt, with a light toasted note, like that of one of those processed “whole wheat” breads. I’m actually enjoying it. There’s initially a little dry grass note, but it fades as a little citrus rind note arises; with a swirl, there’s a dry nectarine note.
The beer is a little sandpaper rough with the carbonation, perhaps aided by an earthy/husky malt opening that doesn’t live up to the nose. A dry tea-leave follows with a spritz of a couple lemon cells. This grew stronger as it warmed, unfortunately. A somewhat dry pine-needle flavor swings the beer slightly bitter.
I enjoyed this more initially, but it slowly became a bit more bland. I like the Vienna malt influence, but fir my palate it needs a different hop profile.
