Copenhagen 1/2 2021. 33 cl bottle from Voldby Købmandsgård web-shop. As "Martha Guilty Rouge". Brew Society’s usual design with a web of small cubes this time on a burgundy background.

Pours opaque, murky burgundy with a mid-sized pink head. Settles as thin, creamy layer of foam almost managing to cover the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is intense with a strong sweet odor of berries mingling with marzipan and alcohol. Sweet fermented cherries, almond and white sugar. Boozy odor just underneath.

Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, soft, smooth, creamy, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is fairly intense with a strong, sugary sweetness followed by a moderate tart bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a boozy undertone. Finish is sugary.

Cherry-heavy, sugary, cherry-wine like beer.

Cherry red with a brown tinge, topped with a finger of reddish brown head.

Smells of cherries, cherry candy and a hint of sourness.

The taste is of cherries, slightly sour, slightly acrid.

Foamy smooth body with lots of carbonation.

I got this in Bangkok and am drinking it in Phuket, Sept 6, 2023
