Copenhagen 21/12 2020. 33 cl little chubby bottle from Voldby Købmandsgaard web-shop. White label with a lot of small golden quadrants circling around the name of the beer. A Belgian beer trying to be hip.
Pours unclear yellow with a big, fluffy white head. Fairly stable. Settles as uneven, lumpy layer of foam managing to cover the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with an earthy, yeasty scent. Pale malts, citrus, green apples. Humid cellar, rain soaked back garden.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, watery, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish and little boozy. Lingers for a while. Finish is dry and boozy.
Yeasty and not without bitterness. Brings a Saison to mind.

The richness of Belgian brewing is a marvel to me. In a small town mid-way between Brussels and Dunkirk, The Brew Society is on the Flanders border of France (3/4 of France's Belgian border is French speaking on both sides.) This is important to know because this micro's character is so multi-cultural. Their website has 4 languages, of which English is one so it's possible for me to know what they're saying. Thank you very much.
The Brew Society has a large production facility (model sustainability, it seems they tout.) I don't know where an eight year-old got all that capital, but they take in contract brewing for nanos and gypsies to stimulate crafting among those with less capital. And those nanos can now benefit from state of the art and sustainability... and so can we consumers. Brew Society uses local suppliers and organics as much as possible, The Brew Society has three lines: Martha (of which Sexy Blond is one of several), a Seven Sins line and then sours. This breadth also is impressive for an eight year old. I'd like to visit their taproom and get a tour, but too many micros and too little time and probably too far from Brussels, despite sharing its multi-cultural spirit.
Martha Sexy Blond is truth-in-advertising, at least as far as the big foam on a blond bod and a Lucious mouth is concerned. This is the lure of its yeast. So distracted, I think I need to get another bottle so I can give her a proper review.
1/24/25 I finally got and drank a second copy and am even more impressed, so upped the rating for Looks and Overall. I could explain why, but it really will be better if you try it for yourself. Cheers, Mates and A Sante' !

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
