(review from April 2025, bottle sez 2024?) Lovely, well balanced barleywine w/such a lighter yet satisfying palate heft; a complex, subtle, caramel/figgy/fruity/raisiny/malty/toffeeish flavor and a slightly lingering, sweetish backend. Very smooth fooler of an 11.3%er & very dangerously quaffable.

I was a bad boy drinking this before its time (or at least, not being able to wait more than a month for it to mature in the bottle.) But I still enjoyed this great ale. (I also added this 2025 Vintage thinking that the bottle numbering makes it different enough. Although I'm not sure of the BA standard, since the recipe seems similar... which is great!)
It seems this is the first rendition I've had before Interbrau bought the recipe and brand. Having an Italian company (seemingly a couple who are aficionados) buy these rights to a traditional English ale strikes me as unique. And for that cross-cultural breeding and their apparent dedication, I give them and Hardy's Ale's tradition some excellent Overall Hugs.
2025 Looks like an exquisite ale, an amber with unparalleled clarity (and no foam.) On a relative basis, it Smells more mute. Tastes are dark dried fruit, mostly raisins stand out. Equally high rating in the mouth for fullness and viscousness and smoothness. The experience is worth the price. Bravo !
