2023 version
Pours a clear ruby red, nice color. Small tan head falls fast some spotty lace.
Aroma is caramel malt, light dark fruit notes, hints of cherry, medium barrel notes with good smooth vanilla. Definitely English leaning but also had good hop bite that mingles with the vanilla, missing the molasses brown sugar notes of the style though. The Bourbon Barrel adds a light kick of alcohol that blends perfectly.
Mouthfeel seems a little light for a 12% was really expecting my free floating brown sugars on this one.
Overall a tasty treat of a beer this cool afternoon
