The beer is fresh; I just picked this up earlier this month. The beer is 44 degrees, and I used a pilsner glass. The pour created a lovely two-fingered frothy and airy white head. The slow dissipation left lacing on the glass. I am surprised to see an adjunct lager leaving lacing and head retention. The color charts around SRM 6, pale gold with straw yellow hues. The clarity is clear with a few lazy carbonation bubbles dancing around. The appearance is above average for this style; it is magnificent.
The aromas in the beer are corn, cereal grains, lightly toasted malts, a malty sweetness, earthiness, a faint hint of floral esters, and some green grass.
I taste the corn, cereal grains, toasted crackers, floral esters, malty sweetness, hints of floral esters, green grass, and earthiness.
The mouthfeel is crisp and clean.
The body of the beer is light, has medium carbonation, and has a fast finish.
This beer is near perfect in the adjunct lager style. I love this beer; it is what Bud and Coors should aim for. Great beer for a hot summer night with friends around.
