Obtained a 16oz can via the Barleywine/Imperial Stout BIF from @mikexw 11-4-23. No canning date; consumed 1-7-24.
Beer poured a clear amber with a gorgeous off white head.
Nose is toast forward with floral hops lingering in the background.
Taste is nicely done with a toasted malt base that is nicely balanced by grassy and earthy hops.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and both smooth and refreshing.
Overall i have not had an amber ale in a long time. This was a nice change, thanks Mike!

*10-25 Update- Last few pints and a can are not what they used to be, Sad to see.
Pint enjoyed at the brewery bar.
Medium amber color, low head of off white that left some lace behind.
Aroma is mildly sweet, caramel malt and "C" hop wildflowers and pine needles in the mix.
The flavor is well balanced blend of caramelized grains and moderate earthy bitterness.
Body is medium lite and the finish continues the balancing act with mild lingering sweetness and a satisfying peppery hop bite.

my first from these guys is a rather basic but full flavored amber type, sturdy on the malt side without being heavy from residual sugar. its low on hops but still robust overall, malt driven, nutty more than caramelized, cleanly fermented, maybe slightly bready there, and there is a lot to like on the whole. quite clear, brick red color to this, short tan head, looks great in the glass. aroma is maple, earthy cereals, and baked biscuit, slightly warm but not from alcohol, just cozy and autumnal vibes, makes me want a wool blanket and a warm fire for some reason, light spiciness in the nose too, maybe noble hops. i think also some rye malt is in here which is cool, its contribution can be appreciated, a natural fit in an amber, i wish we saw more of it from others. the flavor is similar, long and not quite one dimensional but certainly not too complex, with brown sugar, graham cracker, and maybe light almond or hazelnut to it, sticks and leaves, herbal cleanness to the finish, minerals from the water, a light protein richness, a lot less residual sugar than most of these have. not radical, but pleasant and drinkable, well carbonated, and a fine example of the style, sure to appease any thirsty beer drinker. i like it being this flavorful but also still crushable. well done. never heard of this brewery before now, a safe but well executed first impression.

Served on tap in a 16 oz (473 ml) conical pint glass at Growler's Beer Bistro in Tuckahoe, NY.
A: Pours a crystal clear, ruddy dark copper with a one to two finger, foamy, khaki colored head, at least a half finger of retention, and sticky solid rings of lacing.
S: Slightly tart with aromas of caramel, pepper, plum peel, and rye.
T: Semidry. Flavors follow the nose, but very peppery and spicy. Strong lingering bitterness.
M: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
O: Like the addition of the rye which dries it out quite a bit. Different and enjoyably so
