Canned on 8/30/23; consumed on 12/4/23
Pours a clear, deep blood-maroon body capped with two fingers of creamy, off-beige foam; great head retention leaves a wavy layer of rich cap, large, frothy collar, and generous spatter of chunky, soapy lacing spread across the walls of the glass.
Aromas of pumpkin chunks are contrasted with soft vanilla as hints of nutmeg and baking spice steadily impart; distant hints of brown sugar-coated green apple encourage semi-sweetness to a more prominent brown toast feature on the back end of the bouquet.
Taste brings pumpkin chunks and accents of toasted vanilla, with charry nutmeg backing roasty interludes of burnt pumpkin seeds to a deft semi-sweetness over time.
Mouthfeel presents a body on the lighter end of medium and an airy fluff of moderate-high carbonation easing to a subtle, prickly dryness over the mid-palate and a layer of tempered roast through the finish.
Fresh pumpkin tones a deceptively understated profile, doing well to marry the style's typically sweeter intentions with milder roast; well-rounded and enjoyable.
