473 mL can from the LCBO; coded F2918 (Jun 29 2018) and served barely chilled.

Pours a cloudy, turbid straw yellow colour, with more than an inch of lumpy, foamy white head situated atop. An immaculate coat of lacing is left behind as it gradually recedes over the next five minutes or so; a smooth cap and frothy collar are the eventual remnants. Notes of lemon zest, clove spice and crackery, grainy wheat malt sweetness come through on the nose, which is quite yeasty. Suggestions of banana and spicy hops complete the bouquet.

Not bad at all; a tad sweet, but that's not exactly unheard of for the style. I'm getting lots of wheat grain and bready pale malt, with hints of brown sugar sweetness and ripe banana. Slight hints of yeasty clove spice crop up by the midpoint, becoming more prominent towards the tail end of the sip, resulting in a mellow banana, clove and wheat malt finish. Light in body, with middling carbonation levels that weakly nudge the palate; feels a bit watery to be honest, though that doesn't make it any less effortlessly easy to toss back.

Final Grade: 3.53, eking out a B grade. Huron Street Hefeweizen ain't half bad, but I don't think it can hold a candle to most of the German-made equivalents that you can find at the LCBO these days. The mouthfeel's a bit thin, and I am not a big fan of the sweet flavour profile - this one just seems to lack depth, and to a lesser extent, subtlety (the banana ester was a bit overdone for my tastes). I'd drink this again, but it's not something I'd deliberately seek out.

Ordinary looking. Soapy head that settles right away to a thin ring, apricot orange in colour. Good nose, wheat, fruity, spicy. Thin bodied, sweet up front, finishes slightly dry. Decent enough overall.
