12 oz bottle sent from Rick last year. Into a Boiler snifter.
Pours a reddish ruby colored body with a finger of head that recedes immediately to a fingernail leaving slight moss on top.
Aroma is rich, decadent, and fruity with apples, spice, whiskey, figs, potpourri, red wine, and hints of tobacco.
Flavor brings leather and hints of sage right out front, followed by caramel, toffee, whiskey, tobacco, sweet sticky figs, red grapes, and honey. All the flavors develop before that alcohol heat comes hitting like a mack truck at the back. Lingering vinous notes with some leather and hot caramel. This is seriously one of the best tasting Quads I've ever had.
Feel is wet, with stinging carbonation, some slickness, some resin, and then a huge atomic bomb of heat that's nearly painful but oh so welcome.
Overall, this beer is world-class, no doubt about it. I've had few quads that blew me away as much as this one. This is better than Stickee Monkee, Blasphemy, and probably on par or better than 3 Sheeps' Veneration (my personal fave up until now). Incredible beer.
