On concept alone I like this beer.
Looks gorgeous. A tad darker in color than I'd expect from a pils but the clarity is pristine and the head and lace on point. 4.5
Light fruitiness and gentle malt notes combine on the nose. It feels restrained rather than muted and is attractive and inviting. 4
Very well done flavor. Light mango and pineapple but they never achieve the punch that they'd have in a pale ale or IPA. This is nice because it then allows some spicy, earthy hops to come into play and provide some pilsner flavor. Bread-y and crackery malt flavors appear at the finish and again remain true to pilsner flavor. Capturing tropical fruitiness and traditional pils in one is a feat and Bosque achieved it. 4.25
The feel is great too. Bubbly and effervescent to start, dry and earthy, then bitter and a tad spicy on the finish. Up front there is some sweetness but it does not run amok. 4.25
Damn Bosque. Something tells me this is a one-and-done brew from them but they should really consider making this a regular. I love it.
