Pours a deep, nearly black, brown. Khaki colored head rises over a finger and slowly settles to a solid 1/2 inch. Great retention and decent lacing.
Nose carries a smooth, warm Bourbon barrel note. Caramel, toffee, cocoa, and a mild spice (probably barrel spice).
Flavor takes all of this to another level. Deep caramel and cocoa, chewy toffee meets date, and a hug of boozy warmth.
Chewy and, again, warm. The finish is a smooth, non-cloying, sweetness.
