I had this beer on-tap in a nonic pint glass at Churchkey Pub in Edmonds.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a dash of haze and a finger of ivory foam atop.

Smell: lightly sweet malt with a bit of a yeasty aroma. Not super rich, but overall not bad.

Taste: a soft malt base with a nicely yeasty flavor, but also a hint of astringency that detracts from the experience a bit.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: not too bad, although it just doesn’t totally come together for me.

Clear golden yellow brew with abundant foam in the New Belgium snifter. Mellow and fruity aroma with straw. Lively on the tongue and light bodied. Clean and tangy taste with the aromatic hops and warm touch of malt. Well balanced. This has that distinctive fruity hop tang, more like ripe honeydew than the usual German-style Kölsch.

Highly quaffable and another excellent lighter brew from Ferment. Must be something in the Hood River water as I would equally believe it was made by pFriem. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Dated 02/20/23.

Poured at fridge temp into a nonic glass

Pours shiny golden with visible rising carbo and a loose soapy head that settled into a cap and ring, both thin. 4

Lots of cereal grains, grassiness and cracker/biscuit on the nose, cereal grains smelled simply delightful. 4.5

Grassy, cracker and biscuit. Slight bit of hops and lingering hoppiness. Mwah, terrific. 4.25

Initially smooth with a delayed carbo sharp bite, but lingering afterward. 4.25

Overall this is something I'd keep on hand in quantity if I had the chance to get it locally. Once again repeating myself, but worth doing so, an outstanding example of the style. 4.25

Canned 2/20/23

A huge shoutout to Snaotheus for sending this in a ninja box in NBS BIF #17! He sent some local-to-him beers that sound pretty cool. I figured starting off with the Kölsch makes sense considering the weather is beautiful today. Let’s crack it open and see what it’s all about

Pours a clear yellow gold with 3 fingers of fluffy off white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing

The nose here is pretty clean, not exactly throwing off some of the notes I expect in the style but it’s still solid. I’m picking up on aromas of crackery malt, white pepper, honey, floral hops, toasted grain, and light lemon zest

The fruity vibes from the yeast come out a bit more in taste, but it’s still rather gentle. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting bready malt, floral hops, lemon zest, toasted grain, grass, white pepper, and a touch of apple skin. The swallow brings notes of wildflower honey, crackery malt, floral hops, toasted grain, white grape, grass, light lemon zest, and white pepper

A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes mostly dry and refreshing

While it’s not my favorite Kölsch, it’s hard to beat on a hot day

Sampling a fridge temp 16 oz can poured into my stange. Date stamp is canned on 2/20/2023.
The beer pours a crystal clear bright gold color with a fluffy bleached white head of 2.5 cm foaming up at the end of a gentle pour. This foam leaves some scattered lattice as it recedes during the tasting.
Aroma is pretty mild with a bit of crackery malt and some floral hop notes mixing together. No ABV hints and no off scents either for this brew.
First sip reveals a light body with fine tingly carbonation and a soft texture. Beer drinks very easy, which is definitely appropriate for the style.
Flavor is some cracker and biscuit and then a bit of white grape and some floral hits, but the white grape finishes for me. Also very dry on the finish encouraging me to take another sip of the beer.
This is a pretty solid kolsch that I am glad to have tried, unlikely to see it again, but its worth the sampling if you have a desire for a clean easy drinking beer.

Pint on tap at the Bine.

Clear light golden, medium head. Smell is bready, clean, light lemon and grass.

Taste is crisply grassy and lightly bready, honeysuckle.

Light, clean, crisp. This is great.

16oz can (dated 3/15/21) poured into 16oz tulip. Poured a bright, clean, clear light gold color with about an inch-and-a-half of white head that had good retention and light lacing.

The aroma had a basic "beer" scent, but the yeast, grains, and hops were all easily discernible. The malts were nicely earthy, the yeast gently spicy, and the pleasantly floral.

Very similar on the tongue, all the aspects combining nicely, while remaining distinct.

The body was maybe a touch fuller than typical for the style, was smooth, and had a medium-sweet finish.

Drinkability was good, an easy quaffing brew for sure.

Overall, a pretty good example of the style. Worth a shot if you see it.
