From a 16oz can, undated. Purchased at the brewery 06/17/21. Served in a seidl.
Pours a chill hazed light caramel or iced tea color with a half-finger or so of soft, soapy head. Retention is unremarkable, leaving a sudsy cap and collar and a barely rousable slippery film of lacing.
Aroma is rich and bready. Warm and malty; black bread and apple butter.
Taste is smooth as glass, a subtle hodge-podge of sweetened iced tea with lemon, toasted whole grain bread roll, apple juice and tobacco. There’s bit of a tree bark-like tannic quality, and actually a decent amount of bitterness but, smooth as the beer is, I had to stop and think about that to make note of it.
Feel is clean and smooth, medium-light bodied and brightly carbonated.
Overall, a kickass light and easy deck beer for sitting out in the sun watching the sparklies on the water. I’m glad I got the 4-pack and I don’t expect it to last long.
