Autumn is finally upon us, and with that comes our new Festbier, Cardigan. A beautifully crisp pale lager with notes of caramel and toasted bread balanced by a smooth bitterness.

From a 32oz growler, filled at the brewery 10/20/22. Served in a NH Pint Days pub glass because #utterlyproperglassware.
Pours a crystalline honey-gold with a finger-plus of sturdy suds off an admittedly vigorous pour. Retention is OK, leaving a thick collar and a tattered sheet of thin lacing.
Nose is bready and mildly spicy. Complimentary contrast of aromas: soft, doughy breadiness and sharp, gingery spice.
Taste is cleaner, crisper and sharper than expected. Dry and vinous, tasting crusty french bread and white pepper. A bit watery.
Feel is clean and sharp, dry, medium-light bodied with biting, zesty carbonation. Refreshing, seltzer-like.
Overall, light and tasty, and not entirely unlike a beer-flavored seltzer. Misses being massively drinkable only because the rather aggressive carbonation forces you to pause periodically to expel delightfully ginger-flavoured burps.
