this beer rules, this place rules, i think an extension of denver beer co, but with its own unique identity, really fun stop, cant believe it took me so long to make it in here, i loved everything about it. these beers are super inspired, and this one is great. the base beer is simple and well refined, brassy more than golden but gorgeously clear and sparkling, perhaps slightly more malty than is standard, but the graham crackery depth it has supports the peppers well, and they are in fact the star of this show. the aroma is amazing, that deep green ripe summery pepper character, poblano specifically with its light smokiness and subtle slow heat, right off the plant, so good, but not so bold that it dominated, nice grain in support, some sweetness, and an obvious lager yeast profile, if a little generic there. the flavor is great too, just a little back end warmth, they do a michelada in here and its just right with this, that little heat at the end is so good. the grain in this has a nice mineral profile that balances the pepper, there is almost toasted note as well but it never makes this heavy. its on the dry side, well enough carbonated, and clean. i love how the pepper starts early, hits intense but supremely authentic, and then slow fades on the swallow. this is really well designed and executed and its a pint beer on its own but crushes in the michelada. im stoked on this place, and this is one of their best! maybe the best expression of natural poblano pepper i have known in any beer!
