Not many places do an altbier, so I figured I'd try it. It was a touch more bitter than I had expected, but that actually mellowed as the beer warmed up in the glass. It was definitely crisp, as their description indicates, and I could see having a couple of these. I actually tried a different beer after this just to see what else they offered, but this should stay in their regular rotation.

Had on tap. Clear amber body with two full fingers of eggshell white foam. Aromas of toast, toasted caramel malt, earthy hops, and darker yeast. Taste has a significant earthy spice finish with brown bread and yeast, really pleasant, before than is toasted caramel malts with a hint of dried prune. Feel is lighter but never thin for the style, yeast elevation is limited, moderately crisp though
