Poured into a weizen glass. Pours a hazy, medium golden amber with a one finger off-white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of wheat with light graininess, clove and a hint of banana. Flavor is lightly grainy wheat, lemon, clove and light banana; a bit grainy and lightly tart on the finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A traditional looking, smelling and tasting domestic hefeweizen. Solid, well balanced level of spicing. Somewhat more grainy and tart than my favorite German hefes, but would have passed for me as a German brewed one. Seemed a bit rough at first, but the flavors really grew on me as I finished the glass. I watch for some others from Well 80.
