Poured from 16oz can into my Bell's tulip. Canned 3/22/22; purchased at brewery. Can says "Chinook Pass is a classic Hazy IPA brewed exclusively with Northwest grown Chinook hops."
Appearance: medium golden hue with a moderate to heavy haze, with two fingers of frothy ivory foam atop. Quite pretty!
Smell: earthy aroma with a bit of a Fruity Pebbles undernote going on. Moderately juicy, but I'm not certain Chinook is perfect for a hazy IPA.
Taste: earthy indeed, and a bit dank. There's a vegetal quality here and a bit of that Fruity Pebbles character from the aroma. The thing is, the hops taste fresh and juicy, and this is probably the best that Chinook hops can taste. However ... that doesn't make 'em great for this style of beer.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and a good creaminess for the style.
Overall: I think this is about as well-made as a Chinook-based hazy IPA can be, but that there's perhaps a reason it's not super common. I could see this beer potentially growing on me eventually, but one can isn't going to do it.
