i wanted more refinement from this, its a little messy on the fermentation, not as crisp and dry as i want a mexican lager to be, and no sign of the hops i like the help the style finish. its minimal beer, so the flaw in the fermentation profile really stands out, even though its not super intense, its a slightly chemical and almost detergent thing that i got in other beers in here too, so its in both their ale and their lager, whatever it may be, doesnt smell or taste like an infection, but its just not right. it keeps this from being crisp and drinkable, with a curious almost vinous ester that really just doesnt belong in this. the malt is a little fuller, so the beer doesnt drink as easy as it should, some light baked sweetness to it, and minerals as well in the mix. i can taste the lager yeast which i like, but its a little bit interrupted, and more european than mexican to my senses. a hint of cheap lime at the end too where i want the hops to be. the carbonation is fine, but overall the beer is quite lackluster. nothing in here really got me to stoked...
